The Museum’s mission is to collect and preserve significant material and information about Fermanagh’s history, culture and environment and, through its exhibitions, educational activities and events, to promote an appreciation of Fermanagh’s cultural richness among local people and visitors to the county.
All artefacts in the collection, with a few exceptions, have some connection with Fermanagh. The Museum’s ability to care for and preserve artefacts also dictates what it may collect.
At present the collections consist of around 15,000 artefacts as well as a large amount of photographic material and oral history recordings and transcripts.
