Used originally in a public house, the barrel is inscribed 'Armstrong's Double Trapped Cover Registered Oct R 9th 1877 No. 5958'. Robert Williams Armstrong, an architect from London, was one of the three co-founders of Belleek Pottery and the pottery's first manager and art director. Note the spelling of whisky, distinguishing the Scottish product from Irish whiskey
