The Boer war memorial is also known as the Enniskillen Memorial and it commemorates the fallen of the Inniskilling Dragoon Guards and the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in the Boer War (1892-1902) in which the regiments lost about 500 men. The memorial has been moved on three different occasions to facilitate road works. Its most recent move has been to the Wellington Road beside the Castle Barracks.
