Title Tuberculosis and death.

Description Y'see round the streets, at least there was about in my day, I'd say there was four or five funerals a week with TB. Y'know it was rife at that time, and there was young ones dying. There was, every house there was childer buried in wee boot boxes at the bottom of a grave, y'know? And at that time, you had to be ill, people had the youngsters in the house, y'see? The only place you could go to if you were very ill was the workhouse, and as soon as you went in, there was all bogged off you. Aw now, there was tough, women had tough times, I think. TB do you see? There was no cure, y'see? That's all they give you, jar of malt, y'know? I had a sister, I think she was seventeen when she died with it. And then, what used to happen then, the room that she died in and was laid out in, the council'd come down and seal it up.
