Poteen used as a cure. |

| Description |
Aye, we'd a cow here and she was sick and it was what they call the "bloody scour" was wrong with her. But it meant she was puttin' blood through the manure like, which is serious enough. So he had to go down nine mornings after and bring a tractor of manure with him and what he recommended for her was poteen. So she never quit till she drunk a gallon of poteen. And no matter how bad she was, once she smelt you comin' with the poteen she got up, and if you had gruel or meal or anything like that she never bothered, but once you went with the poteen up she jumped! Aye, so that's what she drunk, a gallon o' poteen.
