Enniskillen Castle

Adult Programme

Adult programme

The adult strand of Connecting Peoples Places and Heritage focused on bringing together adults from Cavan and Fermanagh. These adult partnerships took part in a number of meetings over the course of the project. All of the groups took part in a Peace and Reconciliation workshop in Fermanagh County Museum. They took in some of the plantation heritage of county Fermanagh at Enniskillen Castle and there was a visit to Cavan county Museum where some attended lectures on the effects of the Famine in County Cavan.

The groups also travelled further afield with trips to the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh as well as visits to the Famine Museum in Strokestown. Out of these meetings people got to know each other and to appreciate some of the diverse heritage of the region. As a result they eventually came together to collaborate on this exhibition.

The partnerships involved were:
Bruskey ICA, Cavan - Roslea Community Heritage Society, Fermanagh
Positive Age, Cavan - Killesher Old Mill Club, Fermanagh
Positive Age, Cavan - Belleek Women's group, Fermanagh
Cavan Day group - Fermanagh New Horizons
