Bruskey is a rural parish situated in south Cavan. Bruskey ICA guild grew out of an idea put forward in 1970 by Rev Peter Paul O Reilly CC. A meeting was arranged and at least seventy women attended. A committee was formed and Bruskey ICA was founded. It had twenty four paid up members and Mary Kate Brady was the first guild President with Susan Clerkin secretary and Mollie McGauran treasurer. It was stressed that the ICA was a non-political and non-sectarian organisation. 'Thanks to this we are still here thirty eight years later.'
