Tullyveela NS

Tullyveela National School is a four teacher school situated in the townland of Tullyveela in the parish of Corlough, West Cavan. It is located in a beautiful tranquil setting not far from the Leitrim and Fermanagh borders.

The present school opened in 1965 and was an amalgamation of four other schools in the parish. The children have a great interest in Gaelic football, hurling, camogie, basketball, athletics, soccer and Irish dancing.

We are hoping to have a new school built within the next year and a half on a site opposite St Patrick's Church, Corlough.

What you hope this project will help you and your school to accomplish?
We hope this project will help our children to get to know and work co-operatively with a similaraged group of children from over the border in Fermanagh - an opportunity they would not have had the chance of experiencing but for the 'Connecting Peoples, Places & Heritage' Project.

We also hope the children will learn to appreciate the many places of historical interest that surround them and that they will develop a lasting interest and love of their heritage and help to guard it for the future.
