Introduction

The 'Connecting Peoples' exhibition is the culmination of phase II of the Connecting Peoples Places and Heritage project. This project is a cross-border collaboration between Cavan County Council and Fermanagh District Council through both county museums. It was funded under the Peace II Programme - Measure 5.3.

Growing out of the partnership between Cavan County Museum and Fermanagh County Museum twelve school and eight adult groups in both counties were brought together. From September 2007 until May 2008 over seventy adults and two hundred and eighty children and their teachers took part in a series of cross-border partnerships which explored the heritage of Cavan and Fermanagh. 'Connecting Peoples' is just some of the results of the coming together of those who took part in the project.
