Enniskillen Castle

Moat PS

The Moat Primary School in Lisnaskea is situated on a historic site between the ruins of Castle Balfour and a nineteenth century workhouse.

The school celebrated its centenary in 2001. The school has extensive playgrounds and grass areas, allowing the children immense and valuable scope in which to play, learn and explore.

Our motto is "Caring, Learning and Achieving" and we seek to prepare each child for the future through developing their social, emotional, spiritual and academic potential.

Resources

Awards, Activities and Achievements:
We are participating in the Extended Schools Programme and place a great emphasis on providing a variety of after-school activities for parents and pupils.

What you hope this project will help you and your school to accomplish?
We feel that participation in this project will enhance our pupils' awareness of the rich historical heritage which surrounds us in our locality. It will also enrich our pupils' social and emotional skills through enabling us to work with others on a common historical project. Finding new and exciting ways to teach history is important to us. We look forward to extending links slightly further away from home than our immediate community. This is a school that is moving; extending out and bringing in others. We look forward to and welcome the opportunity to 'connect' with others.
