1. Visitor Centre

Our new Visitor Centre was built on the footprint of the former derelict Health Clinic building, constructed within the Castle Complex in the 1960s.

The previous building, the Health Clinic, had offered dental care, maternity care and child welfare in a centralised space.

Earlier still, the Health Clinic had been built on the site of the old Caretaker’s House, formerly married officers’ quarters, and once a stable block. The history of this part of the site reflects earlier piecemeal development of the Castle Complex when the historic significance of the site remained hidden.

Today, the new Visitor Centre houses the Fermanagh Visitor Information Centre and Museum Reception, the Castle Café and Shop, the Fermanagh Genealogy Centre, the Discovery Space and toilets. Admission to the Visitor Centre is FREE.
