Meet the Middle Ages
(Key Stage 2)
(Third Class - Sixth Class)

A specially formulated 3 hour education and activity programme ideal for the annual school trip. This programme combines 1½ hours of Medieval-themed outdoor sports at Blue Green Yonder's Castle Island with a 1½ hour museum Meet the Middle Ages education programme.

Loose your arrows on the range and fire your siege weapons as you experience the cutting edge of technology in the 11th Century. Just don't catch bubonic plague!

Museum
1. Medieval Banquets
Using role-play children are welcomed into a Medieval banquet house where they investigate Medieval food, table manners and social hierarchy.

2. Siege Machines & Castles
Undertake an archaeological dig, uncover Viking artefacts and find out what they reveal about the people who once owned them.

3. Quill-writing Workshop
Pupils make their own Medieval law using quills, to take home.

Duration: 3 hours. Admission charge applies, teachers free.
