Anna McGurn is a ceramic artist based in Co Fermanagh, whose work centres primarily on figurative sculptures. Through movement, energy and expression, Anna brings each piece to life, creating work that invites us to pause, look closer and discover the story within.

This captivating collection offers a glimpse into the lives of those who exist at the edges of our vision – within our families, our communities and our everyday surroundings. Quietly present, yet so often quietly overlooked, these figures invite us to consider the people and stories that can easily go unseen.

She views the world with a wry smile, others might not see it but she knows who she is, comfortable in her skin, she can wear discomfort and give comfort.

Figure 2: Waiting
There’s a heaviness in waiting, inability to move on, paralysed by inaction, sinking further into it every day. The large hands offer comfort, a self-embrace that allows for holding on….. And there’s hope in that.
